Since 1969, the Center for Community Solutions (CCS) has been creating safe and healthy communities with a core emphasis on the treatment and prevention of sexual assault and relationship violence. Quick Q&A with Verna Griffin-Tabor, CEO of Center for Community Solutions
Q: How did you end up at USA Fed?
A: Center for Community Solutions has been fortunate to know and work with USA Fed for many years. For the past six years, one of their staff members has actively served on our non-profit organization’s finance committee. Additionally, USA Fed’s Focus 180 Group has hosted a series of staff supported charitable activities to benefit CCS including back to school and food drives to meet the needs of youth living in our shelters. USA Fed has consistently attended and sponsored our special events and just recently hosted a poker tournament, raising $6,000 toward programs and services that will ultimately impact thousands of San Diegans escaping or healing from violence. Perhaps most exemplary and generous, USA Fed stepped up to help us with a time-sensitive property refinance in a tough economic climate.
Q: What do you think makes USA Fed different to other credit unions and/or banks?
A: What separates USA Fed from other credit unions is the consistency of their commitment and the thoroughness with which they deliver. Each item USA Fed has discussed doing for us has come to full fruition and then some. Finally, the spirit of kindness demonstrated by their staff makes collaboration on projects easy and fun.
Q: Would you recommend USA Fed to your friends?
A: We would certainly recommend USA Fed to our staff based on their history with the San Diego community, their commitment to community service and the expertise of their staff.
Q: In today’s economy, do you trust USA Fed?
A: USA Fed has proven to be a trusted community partner and a loyal contributor to our agency. For that reason, we chose to honor them at our 10th Annual Tea on the Town event, with our Corporate Partner of the Year award.
